Stories and News No. 1232

Democracy is under siege. Because democracy is a risk.

Freedom House, the well-known organization, says so. The human history of every nation says it too.

Because democracy is the power of the people and the power of the people is the people in charge. And the people are not just citizens, ministers, undersecretaries and deputies.

The people are all or none, even those who are never mentioned in happy stories.

It also happens that Israel accused Iran of an environmental attack. At the same time Iran accused Israel of lying.

While the sea and every vulnerable life that depends on it, human or animal it might be, will pay the bloody penalty as usual.

It happens that because of Covid-19 the dead are many everywhere. But the most dangerous variants of the virus are all government leaders.

Among those who are no longer, like Trump, are those who, like Bolsonaro and Boris Johnson, are still on their place, fat and gloating.

Democracy is under siege. Because democracy is a risk.

Freedom House repeats it every year with its press releases. We are reminded every day by the rights of the unfortunate ones who are trampled on in silence.

Because democracy is the power of the people and the power of the people is the people in charge. And the people are not just political leaders and documented citizens.

The people are all of us or none, even those who for the world will always be negligible illegal human beings...
